MV Craigantlet - Northumberland & Northeast

The MV Craigantlet, sitting off the Northumberland coast, is a proper dive, a bit of a journey but absolutely worth it once you’re down. This isn't some broken-up pile of metal; she’s remarkably intact, especially the stern. We love navigating the cavernous cargo holds, where the light filters in through the open hatches, creating these eerie shafts. It’s an immersive experience, feeling like you're exploring a sunken ghost ship rather than just a wreck. You’ll find walls covered in plumose anemones, their white tentacles swaying in the gentle surge, and dead man's fingers adding splashes of orange. Ling and cod often peek out from behind bent plating, and we’ve spotted various crabs scuttling over the decks. It’s a dive that suits those with a bit of wreck experience, comfortable with overhead environments, though there’s plenty to see on the exterior for less adventurous types. Our top tip: aim for slack water on a rising tide for the best visibility and a more relaxed drift around her.
