NICHOLA ANN - Northumberland & Northeast

The *Nichola Ann* isn't a deep dive, barely two metres, but it’s one of our favourite easy wreck dives in the Northeast. You’ll find her just offshore, a compact fishing vessel that went down in '95, now lying on a sandy bottom. What we love about this wreck is how accessible it is; perfect for a relaxed dive, especially when the light is good. You can really take your time here. The wreck itself is a magnet for the usual North Sea suspects: plenty of inquisitive pollack darting in and out of the wheelhouse, often a grumpy conger eel peering from a pipe, and we’ve seen crabs scuttling across the deck. It’s an easy swim-around, exploring the nooks and crannies, imagining the fishing days. Our tip: go at high tide on a calm day for the best visibility. It’s a gentle introduction to wreck diving, or just a pleasant way to spend an hour underwater without any depth concerns.
