OTTO - Northumberland & Northeast

The OTTO wreck, a sailing vessel sunk by gunfire in 1918, lies at 37m in the North Sea. Dropping down, you hit a fairly intact hull, its wooden structure surprisingly well preserved in the cool, dark water. You’ll spot the mast, fallen but still discernible, and the deck, now home to decent-sized lobsters and crabs that peer out from nooks and crannies. This dive suits those with a bit of deep diving experience, happy to navigate a historic, though sometimes silty, site where the echoes of its past feel tangible. It's a proper wreck dive, more about the structure and the atmosphere than colourful fish.
