OUR QUEEN - Northumberland & Northeast

Okay, let's talk about the *Our Queen*. Forget your deep wrecks, your picturesque coral, this is something else entirely. What we have here is an intimate, genuinely historical wreck, sitting in barely enough water to get your fins wet. It's a wooden fishing vessel, an old girl, sunk close to shore. You're not exploring vast holds here, you're tracing the lines of a working boat, now softened by time and the sea. The *Our Queen* is perfect for a chilled-out second dive, or for those days when you just want to potter about and really *look*. Visibility can be typical North Sea, so anywhere from a few metres to actually quite pleasant. When it's good, you can make out the ribs of the hull, parts of the deck structure. Our favourite bits are the nooks and crannies where the local life has moved in – crabs scuttling under planks, lobsters tucked into any available space, and often some decent-sized pollack lurking around the bigger sections. It's a proper wreck, despite the shallow depth, with a real sense of history. Just remember, it’s shallow, so watch that buoyancy to avoid stirring things up.
