PEVERIL - Northumberland & Northeast

The **Peveril** is a proper old school British wreck, and we absolutely love it. Dropping onto her at 38m, you’re hitting the sweet spot for a twinset dive, enough time to properly explore without pushing deco too hard. She was an Isle of Man Steam Packet Company steamer, gone since 1899, and the hull is now completely colonised by the North Sea. We’re talking dense blankets of plumose anemones, often swaying gently in the current, creating this fantastic white curtain over the metalwork. The wreck itself is broken but still offers plenty of structure. You can trace her lines, often finding conger eels poking out from between plates, or even a startled lobster waving an antenna from a dark crevice. Our favourite detail is the stern, where the propeller is still mostly intact – a real photo opportunity if the visibility plays ball, which, let's be honest, can be a bit variable here. When it’s good, though, around 10 meters, it's magical. Definitely one for the experienced wreck divers who appreciate history and don't mind a bit of a chill.
