RAVEN - Northumberland & Northeast

The Raven, an old sailing vessel, went down in 1885 and now rests at 20 metres in the mid-river, near Canada Basin. It’s a site that feels a bit different from your typical coastal wreck. We’ve found the currents here can be a bit shifty, so good buoyancy control is definitely a plus. The visibility often isn't fantastic, but if you enjoy poking around history in murky waters, the Raven offers a genuinely atmospheric dive. We've seen plenty of crabs and lobsters tucked into the wreckage, alongside schools of small fish making the most of the shelter. It's a great spot for those who appreciate the quiet mystery of a long-lost ship rather than a riot of colour.
