RUBY - Northumberland & Northeast

The Ruby, a sailing vessel that went down back in 1876, sits upright on the seabed at a shallow 10 metres. It’s pretty broken up now, scattered over a wide area, but you can still make out the bow and stern sections, along with some of the hull timbers. We find it's a good spot for a second dive or if you're looking for something sheltered when the weather picks up. Expect to see plenty of crabs tucked into the wreckage and lobsters under the larger plates. Visibility can vary here, like much of the Northeast, but on a good day, the light penetration is lovely through the remaining structures.
