SARAH LATHAM - Northumberland & Northeast

The Sarah Latham, a schooner lost in 1948, rests upright in a modest 12 metres of water off the Northumberland coast. It's a great little starter wreck, especially for those newer to UK diving or simply looking for an easy, shallow explore. The wooden hull has largely collapsed but the ribs still stand proud, creating plenty of nooks and crannies for crabs and lobsters. We often find conger eels tucked into the more sheltered sections of the wreckage, and the visibility here, while never tropical, can be surprisingly good on a calm day. It’s an easy dive for anyone looking to spend some time poking around a piece of history.
