SCALLYWAG - Northumberland & Northeast

The Scallywag, a small cruiser that went down in 1992 after a fire, sits upright at 24m, making it a surprisingly intact little dive. We've always found the stern to be the most interesting part, with its exposed propeller and rudder assembly. It’s been well colonised by plumose anemones and dead man's fingers, which really pop against the dark hull in a good torch beam. Because of its relatively shallow depth and protected position, this wreck is a solid pick for divers looking to explore a compact site without strong currents. Keep an eye out for inquisitive wrasse darting in and out of the structure.
