SEAVILLE (PART OF) - Northumberland & Northeast

We love the Seaville for a quick dip when the weather turns sour but you still need to get wet. It’s barely a dive, honestly, more of a snorkel or a crawl, given the two-metre maximum depth. But don't let that put you off. What you get is a really accessible piece of maritime history, the remains of a hopper that went down in '51 after an argument with another vessel. You can spend an easy hour here, just tracing the outline of the hull, feeling the cold North Sea water around you. Our favourite part is peering into the gaps, where the plates have buckled, and watching the blennies dart in and out. The light filters through the shallow water, illuminating the rust-coloured metal and the green algae swaying with the gentle surge. It’s perfect for new divers getting used to wreck navigation or for photographers wanting to experiment with ambient light in very shallow conditions.
