SHARRONA - Northumberland & Northeast

The Sharrona, a fishing vessel that ran aground in 1981, sits exposed at low tide, making it a proper shore dive for those willing to time it right. We've found the best approach is to gear up as the tide starts to drop and walk out to meet her. What you get is a shallow, silty exploration of a working boat's skeleton, now draped in various anemones and housing plenty of crabs and blennies tucked into every crevice. Visibility can be a bit challenging, but on a good day, the light filters through the remaining structure, giving it a surprisingly eerie beauty. This one's for divers who enjoy poking around history rather than chasing pelagics, perfect for a relaxed dive where the real joy is in the discovery.
