SIR CHARLES NAPIER - Northumberland & Northeast

The Sir Charles Napier wreck, resting at a shallow 8 meters, is a nice little peek into maritime history off the Northumberland coast. While it's largely broken up, you can still make out the ribs and hull sections of this 1841 sailing vessel. It’s been down there since 1857, so the structure has completely integrated with the seabed, providing plenty of nooks and crannies for local crabs and small fish. We’d suggest this dive for newer wreck divers or anyone looking for a relaxed bimble, especially as it’s often sheltered from stronger currents.
