SPEEDWELL - Northumberland & Northeast

The Speedwell, a small cabin cruiser that went down back in '78, sits upright in 57 metres, making it a dive for those comfortable with deeper decompression obligations. We found her remarkably intact for her age and size, a compact little vessel with some great penetration opportunities into the wheelhouse and saloon if you’re properly trained and equipped. The lack of current at depth means the delicate anemones and hydroids that have colonised her are often undisturbed, creating a soft, colourful carpet over the decks. It’s a quiet, reflective dive, perfect for twinset divers looking for a bit of wreck solitude away from the busier sites.
