ST IBAR - Northumberland & Northeast

The ST IBAR is a quiet one, a trawler sitting upright at 58m, not too far from the Skerries. She went down quickly in heavy weather back in '73, taking five men with her, a stark reminder of the sea's power. Down there, you'll find her largely intact, an 18-metre vessel with her bow pointing northeast, a somber but fascinating dive. We’ve seen conger eels make homes in her darker recesses, and the odd wolf fish lurking amongst the plates. This is a dive for experienced technical divers, those comfortable with deeper decompression obligations and the North Sea's often brisk conditions, offering a profound glimpse into maritime history.
