The Hopper - Northumberland & Northeast

The Hopper, just off the Northumberland coast, is a decent shore dive for those looking to explore local UK waters. It’s mostly rocky seabed with kelp, so expect to spot crabs, lobsters, and plenty of blennies tucked into crevices. While it might not have the drama of a wreck, it’s a good spot for newer drysuit divers to practice buoyancy in fairly sheltered conditions, or for macro enthusiasts keen to search for nudibranchs. Visibility can be a bit hit or miss, typical for the area, but on a good day, you'll get a clear view of the substrate.
