THORN - Northumberland & Northeast

The Thorn, a barge sunk back in 1891, lies at a shallow 14 metres on the East Hoyle Bank. We usually drop in near the H4 red buoy to find it. It's a collapsed wreck, not much structure left standing, but the debris field is extensive. Expect to see cod, conger eels tucked into the plates, and plenty of edible crabs scuttling around. The site is good for newer wreck divers looking for a historical piece of wreckage without the challenges of depth or penetration.
