TOWER - Northumberland & Northeast

The Tower wreck, sitting in the chilly Northumberland waters, isn’t about dramatic depths or technicolour reefs. What you get here is history, palpable in the remains of this sailing vessel, sunk way back in 1896. At a shallow 8 metres, it's an easy dive, great for knocking off some rust or getting new divers comfortable with a wreck. You’ll find the ribs of the old hull, now well-colonised by anemones and hydroids, providing shelter for crabs and small gobies. It’s a good spot to practise your wreck penetration skills on what remains, or simply enjoy the quiet ambient light filtering through the North Sea's green hue.
