TRY - Northumberland & Northeast

The Try is a good choice if you're looking for a shallow wreck dive in Northumberland. This wooden sailing vessel, sunk in 1898, sits in about 10 meters of water, making it accessible for newer wreck divers or those wanting a relaxed dive. We’ve found her timbers are well broken up now, but you can still make out the general outline of the hull. It's become a nice home for crabs and lobsters, tucked into the remains, and a few blennies usually dart around the splintered wood. Visibility can be a bit variable here, so we always check conditions before heading out, but on a good day, it’s a pleasant dive with a bit of history to it.
