WASP - Northumberland & Northeast

The WASP, a steamship sunk back in 1888, now rests at 15 metres, making it a good target for divers looking for a straightforward wreck dive off Northumberland. You'll find her broken up, but there's enough structure to give you a sense of her size. We've seen some impressive schools of juvenile pollack here, darting through the remaining framework, and plenty of wrasse picking around the plates. It’s a site that suits divers comfortable in colder water, keen to explore a piece of local history without going too deep. A nice drift can bring you over her in calm conditions.
