Wreck of Brilliant - Northumberland & Northeast

The Brilliant wreck is a proper treat, even with the usual North Sea chill. We love a good piece of history down below, and this one, a former minesweeper, has settled nicely onto the seabed, now more reef than ship. You'll find her mostly intact, offering some genuinely interesting penetration opportunities if you're comfortable with overhead environments. It’s the sheer amount of life that always gets us here, a real testament to how nature reclaims things. Expect to be shoulder-to-shoulder with hundreds of pollack, often schooling so thick they dim the ambient light. Ling poke out from every crevice, looking quite grumpy, and there are nudibranchs galore, tiny bursts of colour against the rusted metal. We've even spotted a few wolfish lurking in deeper sections. The wreck sits at a decent depth, making it a good one for advanced divers keen on longer bottom times and a bit of a challenge. Our pick for the best conditions is a calm day with a neap tide; the visibility really picks up then, making those interior explorations much more inviting.
