Wreck of Cambria - Northumberland & Northeast

The Cambria is a true Northumberland classic. We love a good wreck with a bit of history, and this one delivers. Dropping down, you’re greeted by a solid hull section, often shrouded in a green twilight, which feels properly atmospheric. It's a great rummage dive, perfect for exploring if you enjoy poking into nooks and crannies. The wreck itself is beautifully broken up, creating little hideaways that are just packed with critters. Expect to find inquisitive wrasse darting in and out, their colours muted by the North Sea light, and often a decent sized conger eel peeking out from a darkened recess – our favourite find here. Look closely at the metalwork; it’s covered in jewel anemones and dead man’s fingers, adding bursts of orange and yellow. It can get a bit silty inside the deeper sections, so good buoyancy is key to keeping the visibility decent for everyone. This site is brilliant for experienced wreck divers who appreciate a bit of local history and aren't afraid of chillier waters.
