Wreck of Clynder - Northumberland & Northeast

The *Clynder* is one of our favourite North East wrecks, though she demands respect. This trawler went down in 1915 after hitting a mine, and the sea has really taken her. What you find now is a broken, scattered wreck, but that's precisely her charm. We love drifting along the debris field, exploring the twisted metal plates and machinery, each section feeling like a mini-ecosystem. You’ll often spot massive wolfish lurking in the gloom, their beady eyes watching you, and the cracks are full of crabs and lobsters. It’s a site for experienced divers comfortable with low visibility and currents that can pick up, especially if you want to explore the deeper sections where the bulk of the wreck lies. If you enjoy a proper rummage in history rather than a pristine structure, the *Clynder* delivers a true UK wreck diving experience.
