Wreck of Cordelia - Northumberland & Northeast

Northumberland diving has a rough charm to it, and the Cordelia wreck near Seahouses is one of our favourites for exactly that reason. Dropping onto her usually means some current and often a bit of a green hue, but that just adds to the adventure. She’s broken up, scattered across the seabed, but the distinct bow and stern sections make for great navigation. We love picking through the debris, seeing how the metal has twisted and buckled over the decades. This isn't a wreck with intact cabins, but the structure that remains creates brilliant hideaways for resident lobsters and huge edible crabs. Look closely, and you'll spot vibrant nudibranchs clinging to the plates, a surprising burst of colour against the rust. Diving the Cordelia feels like exploring an archaeological site rather than just a boat, a real testament to the power of the North Sea. It’s a dive that rewards patience and a good torch, perfect for those who enjoy poking around and discovering the smaller, often overlooked inhabitants.
