Wreck of Earl Of Kingston - Northumberland & Northeast

We love a wreck that really tells a story, and the *Earl of Kingston* off the Northumberland coast delivers. She’s a trawler, sank back in '26, and while the UK’s waters can be a bit challenging, this one’s worth the effort. The wreck sits quite upright, which is always a bonus, and her bow section is our favourite part; it’s still relatively intact, rising from the seabed like a ghost. You’ll find her covered in plumose anemones, their frilly white tentacles swaying in the current, creating a stark contrast against the dark metal. Ling often lurk inside the holds, big, watchful fish that peer out as you fin past. Keep an eye out for crabs scuttling over the plates too; they’re everywhere. This site is a proper journey back in time, best suited for experienced cold-water divers comfortable with variable visibility and the occasional stiff current. It’s not a gentle drift, but for those who appreciate history and the rugged beauty of a northern wreck, it’s a rewarding dive.
