Wreck of Jab - Northumberland & Northeast

The Wreck of Jab. Now here’s a dive that sticks with you. Dropping onto her from the typical grey North Sea surface, it’s always a surprise how much of her remains. We love how her skeletal frames rise up from the seabed, giving you a real sense of her scale, even if the visibility isn’t playing ball. It’s not a deep dive, which is a bonus for bottom time, but the currents can get a bit frisky, so check those tides. We always try to time it for slack water. That way, you can really poke around in the holds, where cod and pollock often hover, surprisingly unafraid. Our favourite part has to be the stern, where the prop shaft still lies, encrusted with dead man’s fingers that pulse with the surge. It’s a great site for divers who appreciate history and don’t mind a bit of a challenge. You’ll be sharing the wreck with conger eels, lobsters tucked into every crevice, and sometimes even a curious seal pup zipping past. It's proper UK diving, full of character.
