Wreck of Joshua - Northumberland & Northeast

The *Joshua* isn't a dive you just drop onto; it's a piece of history, a working dive. This trawler, sunk in 1914, sits upright, mostly intact, and makes for a proper adventure. You'll find it off the Farne Islands, and we love pairing it with a seal dive when the conditions are right. Descend into the often-murky North Sea, and the *Joshua* slowly materialises, its bow pointing resolutely north. The stern is a fantastic tangle of rusted metal, a real playground for competent wreck divers. We always spend time exploring the engine room, pushing through the tighter sections, torch beams cutting through the suspended particles. Look out for the resident wolf fish, big, grumpy characters that often eye you from dark corners. It’s a site that demands good buoyancy and comfort in low visibility, but the rewards are there: a true taste of North Sea wreck diving, cold and compelling.
