Wreck of Salskar - Northumberland & Northeast

The Salskar is a proper old girl, broken up into distinct sections that make for a satisfying rummage. We love how the hull plates have twisted and buckled, creating little swim-throughs and overhangs perfect for spotting ling and those incredibly inquisitive conger eels. Dive it on a day with good visibility – anything over five metres here feels like a bonus – and you’ll see the structure clearly, often silhouetted against the emerald light of the North Sea. Our favourite part is the stern section; it’s usually where we find the biggest lobsters tucked away, and the intact propeller blades are always a striking sight. This is a dive for those who appreciate history and the gritty resilience of nature reclaiming steel. Expect cool water, the occasional strong current, and a real sense of adventure. It’s certainly not a tropical reef, but the Salskar has a character all her own.
