Wreck of Scottish Lass - Northumberland & Northeast

The Scottish Lass holds a special place in our hearts for Northeast wreck diving. It’s not a massive wreck, but it’s remarkably intact for its age and the sometimes-rough North Sea. You can still make out the bow, stern, and the holds, offering plenty of nooks and crannies to poke around in. We love dropping down onto the main deck and seeing the resident cod patrolling the superstructure, often quite bold as you approach. For divers who appreciate history and the way the sea reclaims things, this wreck is a real treat. We’ve had some fantastic dives here when the visibility is good, around 10 to 15 metres. That’s when the light filters down through the shoals of coalfish that often swirl above the mast. Watch out for the colourful anemones and dead man’s fingers clinging to every surface, particularly along the deeper sections. It’s a site that rewards multiple visits – each time, the shifting currents might reveal a new detail or a different resident lobster peeking out from beneath a collapsed plate.
