Wreck of Taurus - Northumberland & Northeast

The *Taurus* is a cracking dive, proper North Sea stuff, and one we always enjoy for a bit of exploration. It sits broken but still recognisable, with parts of the hull spread out like scattered bones on the seabed. You’ll fin through shadows and light as you navigate the twisted metal, imagining the force that ripped her apart. We love pushing into the deeper holds, where the light struggles to reach, and it feels like stepping back in time. What makes *Taurus* a standout is how marine life has absolutely taken over. Crabs lurk in every crevice, their antennae twitching as you pass, and the lobsters here are some of the biggest we’ve seen anywhere in the UK, often tucked right under the steel plates. Look for the nudibranchs – they pepper the rust-coloured wreckage with surprising pops of colour. It’s a dive that rewards slow exploration, taking your time to pick out the details rather than rushing through. For divers comfortable with colder water, a bit of current, and who appreciate a good historical wreck, the *Taurus* delivers. We’d suggest going at slack tide; it makes navigating the deeper sections much more enjoyable.
