Wreck of Zephyr - Northumberland & Northeast

The Zephyr wreck. Now, this isn't your average North Sea dive. We always find something new here, tucked away on the seabed off Northumberland. Descending onto her, the first thing you notice is the way the light filters through the green water, catching the ribs of the ship. She's a skeletal wreck, yes, but that’s her charm; you can swim through sections, tracing the lines of her hull. We love how the resident cod and ling have made homes in the twisted metal, often just hanging there, watching you with an almost bored expression. Look closely for the nudibranchs, they're everywhere if you have a keen eye, tiny splashes of colour against the rust. This is a dive for those who appreciate history and don't mind a bit of a current. Our tip? Go at slack water, it makes exploring the broken deck plates much more enjoyable. It’s a proper delve into a piece of maritime past, colonised by the present.
