X.L. - Northumberland & Northeast

The X.L. is a fishing vessel that ran aground and sank in 1974, a testament to the North Sea’s often unforgiving nature. What’s left is a well-broken wreck, but it’s precisely that fractured hull that creates fantastic little hideaways. We’ve found decent lobsters tucked into the nooks, along with the usual suspects like blennies and sometimes even a wolf fish if you’re lucky. It's a great spot for a relaxed shallow dive, perfect for newer wreck divers looking to get a feel for penetration on a structure that's more open than intimidating.
