Specular Wreck - Ontario Great Lakes
Specular Wreck, in the chill, fresh waters of the Ontario Great Lakes, offers a different kind of dive. It’s a good example of what makes Great Lakes wreck diving so unique: the cold acts as a preservative, leaving structures remarkably intact. When we dropped down, the outline of the vessel was clear, with sections still holding their form, like a ghost ship. You won’t find tropical fish here, but the wreck has become a habitat for freshwater dwellers-we spotted several large lake trout cruising through the deeper parts and perch darting between the ribs of the hull. It's a dive that rewards careful exploration, perfect for those who appreciate maritime history and the quiet beauty of a freshwater ecosystem.
