Hollywoodivers - California
The team at Hollywoodivers are our go-to for diving in Southern California, particularly if you’re looking to get out to Catalina Island. They run regular boat trips, and for us, a day trip out on the *Pacific Star* is a perfect escape from the city hustle. We love their energy, totally unpretentious and focused on getting you comfortable in the water. We’ve done our fair share of gear rentals with them, always well-maintained and no-fuss. For anyone who’s been out to dive the kelp forests, you know it’s a specific kind of magic, with sun rays piercing through the emerald canopy and leopard sharks cruising below. Hollywoodivers really shines at getting new divers comfortable with this environment. They’re excellent for refreshers if you’ve been out of the water for a bit, or for getting certified if you’re just starting out. We’d suggest calling ahead to book your boat spot, especially on weekends, as they fill up fast. And definitely ask them about the best time of year for Garibaldi sightings – the males are particularly territorial and colourful during breeding season.
