Three and One-half Fathom Ledge - New England
Muirfield Reef on Christmas Island always feels a bit like a lucky dip. We’ve had dives here where the visibility drops and it’s just okay, but then there are those days when the water opens up and you truly appreciate the robust coral structures. We often spot wedge-tailed shearwaters circling overhead before we even hit the water, a nice preview of the wildness here. Down below, keep your eyes peeled for the subtle beauty of the Carnelian Cowry, they're surprisingly common once you tune in. This spot is great for divers who enjoy a natural, unmanicured reef and don't mind a bit of exploration to find the good stuff.
