Scuba Ventures - North Carolina
The team at Scuba Ventures are our go-to for diving the North Carolina wreck alley, no question. They’ve been at this since '89, so they know these waters, and more importantly, they know these wrecks. What we really appreciate is their focus beyond just the usual certifications, pushing into things like Public Safety Diver and even Mermaiding. It shows a real passion for all aspects of being in the water, not just the deep stuff. We love that you can start with your Open Water here and progress all the way to Divemaster, or even get into sidemount. The wreck diving here is what makes North Carolina famous, and Scuba Ventures is set up to get you ready for it. Think U-boats, tankers, and cargo ships, often in conditions that demand respect. We’d suggest getting your Advanced Adventurer and Enriched Air Nitrox with them to make the most of those deeper wrecks, giving you a bit more bottom time to explore. The currents can get lively out there, so a good rescue course from people who’ve seen it all wouldn't hurt either. These aren't always sun-drenched, easy dives, but the history and the marine life on these steel structures are just incredible. Expect to see sand tiger sharks cruising through the holds and massive schools of baitfish shimmering over the decks. If you're looking to dive serious history with a crew who truly gets it, this is your place.
