Lennon-Hyde Reef AR-386 - 10 Railroad boxcars - North Carolina

Dropping onto the Lennon-Hyde Reef AR-386, you’re greeted by the unusual sight of ten railroad boxcars. They sit upright on the sand, creating an artificial reef that’s become a home for a variety of North Carolina’s resident fish. We’ve found barracuda often patrolling the structures, and schools of snapper make good use of the overhead shelter. It’s a straightforward dive, well-suited for those looking for something a bit different from natural reefs, or divers keen on wreck penetration with the right training.
