USNS Morgan Wreck - North Carolina

The USNS *Morgan* wreck off North Carolina is a proper beast of a dive, a massive tanker lying on its side, and one we always look forward to. Drop down, and you immediately feel the scale of the thing – it just keeps going. We love how the hull plates are peeling back in places, creating these shadowy alcoves perfect for amberjacks to hang out in, schooling so thick they shimmer when the light hits them just right. For us, the real joy is poking around the bow and stern, where much of the superstructure is still somewhat intact. You can sometimes see the huge propeller, depending on how much sand has shifted, and the swim-throughs are just big enough to feel adventurous without being genuinely spooky. Look out for the resident sand tiger sharks; they often cruise the deeper sections, their toothy grins a staple of these Carolina wrecks. The *Morgan* isn't a delicate reef dive; it's a dive for those who appreciate history and heavy metal, a true wreck diver's playground.
