GRIGORIS (POSSIBLY) - El Gouna

The Grigoris, or what we strongly suspect is the Grigoris, is a real charmer. It’s an upright wreck sitting shallow, only 8 meters down, making it perfect for longer bottom times and a favourite with photographers and newer divers alike. We love how light streams through the superstructure, illuminating the schools of glassfish that swirl around the holds. Look closely in the shadowed corners for moray eels tucked into crevices, and we’ve often spotted crocodilefish perched on the deck plates, perfectly camouflaged. Our favourite part has to be the intact bow, still pointing purposefully towards the surface, a sturdy home for countless anthias. Explore the open cargo holds and imagine the vessel’s working life; the history feels palpable here.
