St John's Small Gota - Marsa Alam

St John's Small Gota, out in the Marsa Alam area, is one of those Red Sea pinnacles that always holds the promise of something special. We've had some really great encounters here over the years, often with the resident pods of dolphins – we're talking long-beaked, bridled, even the Indian Ocean bottlenose variety. It’s a good spot to just hang out and see what swims by. While it’s not always a guarantee, when they show up, it’s quite a spectacle. Beyond the bigger stuff, keep an eye out for cowfish, they often pop up in the reef cracks. We think it’s a good site for experienced divers who appreciate a drift and the chance of a pelagic encounter.
