KRISTINA S - Eilat
We’ve always had a soft spot for the Kristina S. It’s a purposeful wreck, sunk in 2004 as an artificial reef, and she truly delivers. Sitting upright at 25 metres, this motor vessel is perfect for a relaxed exploration. What makes her special? The wheelhouse. You can easily penetrate it, swim through, and exit, which is always a thrill. Inside, the light plays off the gauges and the steering column, giving you a real sense of its past life. We often find schooling glassfish here, shimmering in the shafts of light. Down in the cargo holds, where the light is dimmer, you’ll spot lionfish lurking in the shadows, their venomous spines fanned out. For photographers, the bridge offers some fantastic wide-angle shots, especially when the sun is high. We’d suggest hitting this site mid-morning. That way, you catch the best light filtering through the decks and illuminating the resident groupers. It’s a comfortable dive, rarely affected by strong currents, making it a great choice for divers looking to gain some wreck experience without feeling overwhelmed.
