RIAD S. (POSSIBLY) - Tyre

The RIAD S., or what we believe to be the RIAD S., sits shallow off Tyre. At only 7m deep, it’s less about depth and more about history. This 53.3m motor vessel is a fantastic photo op, especially on a sunny afternoon when the light plays through the gaps in the hull. We love hovering above the stern, watching schools of juvenile barracuda glitter around the prop, or peeking into the wheelhouse. It’s an easy dive, perfect for knocking off some rust or taking new divers on their first wreck. The bow section is the most intact, with the holds offering sheltered spots for moray eels and the occasional octopus. Visibility here can swing a bit depending on the coastal currents, but typically it’s decent enough to appreciate the scale of the wreck. Our favourite part is the engine room, which is fairly open and lets you explore without feeling squeezed. Look out for the nudibranchs that cling to the metalwork, they’re often overlooked but add a splash of colour.
