Naufragio Reboque - Fernando de Noronha

The Naufragio Reboque, or Tugboat Wreck, is a properly fun dive in Fernando de Noronha, and honestly, one of our favourites for a relaxed afternoon. Sitting upright at about 9 metres, it’s remarkably intact for its age, having gone down in the 1930s. We love how the structure itself creates so many little nooks and crannies. You can poke your head into the wheelhouse, explore the engine room, and even swim through parts of the cargo holds. It’s not just the wreck that makes it special, though. The marine life here is bold. Schools of snapper and grunts hang around the superstructure, and if you look closely, you’ll spot moray eels tucked into crevices, their heads peeking out. Keep an eye on the sand nearby; we’ve often seen nurse sharks snoozing there, completely unfazed by divers. It’s a cracker of a dive for photographers looking for an easy subject and for anyone who loves a bit of history with their reef life. Because it’s so shallow, you get plenty of bottom time to really soak it all in.
