Remolcador Marte - Fernando de Noronha

The Remolcador Marte is our pick for a really satisfying wreck dive in Fernando de Noronha. It’s a tugboat, scuttled back in the 1970s, now sitting upright on a sandy bottom at around 27 meters. What we love about the Marte is how penetrable it is. You can easily swim through the engine room, past the galley, and poke around the bridge. Sunlight shafts through the open hatches, illuminating schools of French grunts and snapper that have made the wreck their home. We often see hawksbill turtles resting on the deck, surprisingly unbothered by divers. Look closely and you'll spot scorpionfish camouflaged against the rust, or a moray eel peeking from a pipe. The current here is usually mild, making it a relaxed dive, perfect for photographers or anyone who likes to take their time exploring a wreck's character.
