LIEN TA NO.2 - Cenderawasih Bay
The Lien Ta No.2 is one of those wrecks that just makes you smile. She’s a fishing vessel, not particularly huge, sitting upright in a shallow 4 metres of water. We love her accessibility – you can spend a whole dive just circling her, poking into nooks and crannies. The wheelhouse is still largely intact, which is a rare treat, and you can peer through the windows imagining the crew. Our favourite part has to be the explosion of colour that’s taken over the hull. Soft corals, anemones, and sponges coat nearly every surface, drawing in a resident population of damselfish and hawkfish. It’s an easy dive, perfect for photographers wanting to play with natural light or for anyone who just wants a relaxed exploration without worrying about depth or deco. Go late afternoon if you can; the light filtering through the water onto the wreck is just gorgeous.
