Manta Point Sangalaki - Derawan Islands

Manta Point Sangalaki is usually a pretty chill drift dive, perfectly suited for newer divers. The current here tends to be gentle, ushering you along a sandy bottom interspersed with coral bommies. We often see reef mantas cruising through the cleaning stations, sometimes in small groups. Look out for banded sea snakes weaving through the corals and the occasional turtle resting on the sand. It’s a good spot to relax and just watch the ocean go by, especially if you’re hoping for a close manta encounter without any drama.
