Sea Fan City - Derawan Islands

Sea Fan City, just off Derawan, is a decent spot for an afternoon dive, particularly if you're newer to diving or just want something relaxed. The name pretty much gives it away; you'll find plenty of gorgonian sea fans here, scattered across the reef. We tend to drop to around 20-25 metres, where the fans are at their densest, often sheltering pygmy seahorses if you’ve got a sharp eye and a patient guide. It’s a generally mellow drift, making it easy to just float along and soak it all in. No strong currents to worry about, which is a plus for photography or just enjoying the swim.
