Ujung Karang Tinggi - Derawan Islands
Ujung Karang Tinggi is a decent shallow spot in Derawan, a good one for easing back into things or for newer divers. The reef plateaus around 26 meters, nothing too deep to worry about. We’ve had pleasant drifts here, just letting the gentle current carry us past some pretty healthy table corals and the occasional reef shark cruising in the distance. You’ll see plenty of the usual reef suspects, like parrotfish and schools of fusiliers, but it’s the overall calm vibe that makes it nice. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s a solid, enjoyable dive, especially if you’re looking for something relaxed before tackling the bigger sites.
