Sebayur dive site - Komodo

Sebayur is one of those Komodo sites we return to often, especially when the currents elsewhere are a bit spicy. It’s got a lovely, gentle drift along a sloping reef, making it perfect for an easy second dive or for divers getting comfortable with a bit of movement. What we really love about Sebayur is the sheer density of hard corals. We're talking forests of staghorn, big brains, and intricate papyrus corals that just keep going. It’s a riot of texture and shape. You’ll drift past patches of Chinese lettuce coral so delicate they look like lace, alongside chunky corrugated corals. Keep an eye out for the schooling Indian mackerel that often cruise by in the blue, and the surgeonfish – both bristle-toothed and blue-lined – are always busy grazing on the reef. Our favourite is finding those little surprises tucked away, like a tiny nudibranch on a goniopora. The visibility here is usually excellent, giving you time to really soak it all in. If you want a relaxed dive with stunning coral coverage and plenty of smaller reef fish, Sebayur is a great choice.
