Donut Reef, in Sulawesi, feels like a comfortable neighborhood dive. You drop onto a broad, gently sloping reef, mostly covered in a mosaic of staghorn corals. It's not a dramatic wall, but rather a sprawling, healthy patch where we often spot the more cryptic critters – keep an eye out for those colorful cowries tucked into crevices. This site is excellent for macro enthusiasts who enjoy a relaxed pace, maybe even a second pass to truly soak it all in. The currents here are generally mild, making it a good option for longer bottom times.
