With 238+ marine species recorded in the area - including blacktip reef sharks, giant moray eels, pygmy seahorses, seahorses and sperm whales - Gap offers some of Sulawesi's richest diving. Water ranges 29-31°C, warmest June, October, November.
The Gap, off Sulawesi, offers a pleasant dive with a decent collection of reef life. We found the corals in good shape, plenty of staghorn, and the occasional branch coral providing shelter. Look closely and you’ll spot a few different clams – boring clams, bear paw clams, even some small giant clams tucked into crevices. It’s a relaxed drift, perfect for an afternoon when you're after some easy viewing without too much fuss. Good for divers who appreciate the little things and a gentle current.
